Author: Rick Pullen
Publication Date: May 3, 2016 by Blair House Available at: Amazon.com
Author Rick Pullen published his first book, “Naked Ambition,” in early May. Pullen, a magazine editor and former investigative reporter from Virginia, is a long time, part-time, Fort Myers Beach resident. He first came to the island in 1976 to visit his parents who had discovered the island just a few years before. Today he lives part-time in a condo just a few steps from the site of the cottage where his family first stayed when visiting the beach. Rick is a big fan of Pine Island novelist Randy Wayne White and hopes to meet him some day for a cigar and beer at Doc Ford’s.
“Naked Ambition” is a political thriller that is eerily reflective of this year’s political scene. In the book, the establishment attempts to take down a Republican candidate for president (You don’t have to wait until November to find out how it ends.)
In the book, newspaper reporter Beck Rikki receives an unsolicited call sending him off to investigate a presidential candidate. As he digs deeper, he follows a trail of murder, bribery, infidelity and deceit that runs from Canada to the Caribbean–and yet all signs seem to point to the White House. He finds nothing is quite as it appears—not his sources, not his curious new love interest and especially not the story he’s pursuing. And with only days before the election, just when he thinks he’s solved the riddle, he realizes he hasn’t.
“Naked Ambition” is the first in a planned “Naked” series and is available on Amazon. To learn more about Rick’s book projects, visit his website: rickpullen.com
